I was making some posts to the Warrior Forum today and saw a few posts about “Working From Home”. And I realized, if you haven’t worked from home before, there are a lot of challenges to overcome.

Like distractions:

- Friends calling on the phone because they don’t think they are bothering you because “you don’t have a job”.
- Kids interrupting you… yes, they are cute and want to play, but it’s work time.
- The couch, TV, video games and all the other fun things to do

Look, most of us started to work at home because we wanted freedom and a better life. But if you’re not careful, working at home can be a disaster. It can rob you of your productivity and destroy your profits. Next thing you know, you’ll be joining the “worker ants” again with your tail between your legs. (Do ants have tails?)

Here are a few tips I shared on the forum:

1) Set apart a separate work space. When you go into the space, it’s time to work.

2) Set a schedule. This means you have to have a plan, and not just sit in front of the computer and call it work.

3) Time yourself doing the tasks that REALLY matter to building, growing and profiting from your at home business. I found while I was on the computer a lot, I was doing very little of ACTUAL work that mattered. Time yourself, and you’ll see what I mean.

4) Set rules… tell your friends, wife and spouse the rules so they don’t bother you during work hours.

Basically, set apart a part of your day to get something done. Get it done as efficiently as possible. Then go enjoy life.
