Have I Lost My Mind Creating Blogs? As someone who has claimed time and again their success on the Internet is due to Ken Envoy and Site Build It!, you may be surprised that I’ve now dedicated myself to blogging. (If you don’t know my beginning story or about SBI, visit my post: SBI: How I Got My Start On The Internet).

And your confusion is understandable, especially if you read this article by Ken Envoy himself where he defends building a Theme-Based-Content-Site over full-time blogging:

Blog Or Build? With Site Build It!… You Actually Do Both Automatically. Beyond That, Is Full Blogging Right For You?

Ken makes some very valid points, and as a SBIer myself, I really do understand the power of the SBI C-T-P-M Process.

So, what could I possibly be thinking creating an Internet Marketing Blog like Unfairwebadvantage.com or a Blogging Blog like BloggingBattlePlan.com. Have I lost my mind? Am I making a huge mistake?

Let me explain my thinking a little:

I believe that the 3-Tier website building system taught by SBI is probably the best for both visitor navigation and search engine optimization. The keyword brainstorming programs, tracking and everything else you get make it a really powerful, all-in-one system for building a profitable online presence.

But I kept running into other Internet Marketers praising blogging. I dabbled in it myself, with pretty poor results. But again, I kept reading about how blogging is superior.

So, I decided to take it seriously and find out for myself and joined Authority Site Center.

This community teaches you how to build Authority Sites using the blogging platform, and gives you some cool software programs to use too!

And what I learned was building a Theme-Based-Content-Site and Authority Site are similar in principal but different in application.

So, what does all this mean for someone just starting an Internet Business?

My conclusion is:

It doesn’t really matter if you chose to build a website or create a blog. One platform does not necessarily have an advantage over the other. Your success depends on the principles behind your website building or blogging.

I learned my success principles from Site Build It! when learning how to build a Theme-Based-Content-Site.

These same principles were reinforced by Authority Site Center when learning how to create an Authority Site with a blog.

And this is what I want you to take away from this post!

Focusing on the technical aspect of building a website vs. creating a blog is the wrong way to look at it. A website or a blog is just an empty shell. The principles behind how you fill the shell are what determine your success.

The true value of services like SBI or ASC is not that you learn how to build a website or blog. The true value is you learn how to create a web presence through content that gets targeted traffic and grows into a profitable online business!

So, have I lost my mind with my blogging experiment? I don’t think so. But only time will tell!
