The Fog of Online Marketing So, let’s begin:

As I start my blogging journey on Unfair Web Advantage, I can’t help but reflect on my beginning as an online marketer. The excitement, frustration, hopefulness, confusion, exhilaration, anger and despair all blend together into one of the most memorable times of my life. It is what I call “The Fog Of Online Marketing”!

I use this phrase (borrowed from the military concept of The Fog Of War), to portray the overwhelming desire to try to make sense of something that is so broad in scope, so changing and so unfamiliar that full comprehension is almost impossible. The thousands of online business strategies, millions of tactics and billions of options create a situation where every decision you make seems “right” and “wrong” at the same time. It’s as if you’re in a thick fog with no way to get your bearings to make a logical, comfortable decision on the best way to move forward.

Combined with “information overload”, misinformation and downright bad advice, it is no wonder over 95% of Internet marketers fail to make any serious money online! So, you may be asking, “Why would anyone want to be an online marketer?”

The answer is simple:

Once the fog begins to clear, online marketing is one of the most rewarding, empowering and potentially enriching opportunities of modern times!

Where else do you have the opportunity to make a living (on your terms), comparable to that of people who invested hundreds of thousands of dollars and 4-8 years of their life studying? Where else can you be your own boss, and start your very own business for a FRACTION of the cost and effort needed to do the same in the “real” world?

But I’ll be honest with you:

Most people fail to make it out of the fog. While they have the desire to make money online, they end up just jumping from one strategy to the next without putting in the necessary time to see any RESULTS. Many fall victim to slick-tongued marketers selling the “quick and easy” solution to get rich while you sleep, wasting thousands of dollars and countless hours. (I’ve been there, so I speak from experience!) Or worse, they don’t have a strategy at all, and just use a bunch of tactics willy-nilly HOPING to strike gold. Again, doomed to failure before they even begin.

And the saddest part:

Making money online is not all that hard! Once you identify the real strategies and tactics to create online wealth and relentlessly FOCUS on them, the fog begins to lift. And as the fog lifts, more opportunities materialize and decisions are made quickly, effectively and with confidence. And as a result… MORE fog lifts!

Stay the course of what works, and don’t get distracted by ANYTHING else, and soon you’re walking under sunny skies!
